Identifying and Encouraging Best Practices for the

Professional Development of Teachers

From Abdallah Judeh

We are dedicated to:

improving English Language Teaching and Students Learning of English through making the best use of available resources We adopt a Reflective  Learning approach for training teachers that combines the  face-to-face practices in training sessions with online  practices that teachers reflectively try them out. They begin with different types of pre-training assessments such as Placement Tests, Diagnostic tests, Learning Styles, Multiple Intelligences, Personality Types inventories (drawing up their Learning Map) before starting their first language knowledge base development by improving their English Language and Methodology).Teachers will be able to choose the content, the timing and the knowledge managment tool (the method)  that is most convenient for them.

A Letter  of Greetings

To our colleagues English Language Teachers

Dear colleagues,

We greet  you and wish you all the best. It is with pleasure

that we open up this new channel of communication.

We hope to establish a cooperative and fruitful

professional interaction that will benefit you

and facilitate your work.

At present, we hope to raise awareness of what

is THERE  and what CAN BE DONE.

For example,  there  are new textbooks  for various grades; there

are new assessment strategies and tools;  One needs to be clear-headed

when carrying out all the required tasks.  Our two-way

communication will make training and retraining

and updating very flexible  and adaptive in nature.

This means you will be able to choose the content,

the pace, the mode of presentation and interaction

according to the usefulness  of the interaction to

you as a result of your self assessment, e.g.

(any time, anywhere, anyhow).

Dear teacher

We're confident that you and your students have got great potential. We hope  you'll become an accomplished, independent and creative self-learner. We'll

provide the context for you to optimize it. We will

work together through activating our problem

solving processes to research, analyze and discuss

data about  topics that range from Blended learning

(the magic mix between online-based and face-to-face

learning), planning, motivating students,  designing diagnostic tests, to

teaching and testing of critical thinking …etc.

Another area which we'll tackle through pooling of

our resources, joint researching and sharing  and

through self-learning and self-training will be

special topics such as International School/Program

Management , Quality Assurance in EFL (planned for 2007/2008), Designing

 Self-Remedial material, Reflective Approach in

teaching and Supervision , How to make your own Artificial Intelligence

chat robot…etc. The content will be presented in

both Web sites:

http://www.education-abdallah.htmlplanet.com

http://www.angelfire.com/super2/abdallah_education

http://www.angelfire.com/super2/abdallah_education/critical_thinking/

Finally, we promise you that there will be a lot of interesting things to discuss

and share with you.
